The North Londoners finished five points behind City in the 2022/23 season and two points short in the following campaign.


To surpass City and claim the title, Arsenal need to bolster their squad further. A new striker and reinforcements on the right wing, particularly to support Bukayo Saka, are seen as priorities. This is likely why they are considering Chiesa, a versatile Juventus star.


Chiesa, hailed as a ‘superstar‘ by Italian presenter Adriano Del Monte, had a standout season in 2020/21 with 15 goals and 11 assists. However, his subsequent three seasons have been less impressive, with a combined total of 18 goals and 13 assists. According to Tutto Juve, Juventus are now ready to sell Chiesa, with Arsenal among the interested clubs. The Italian club is reportedly asking for a fee between €40 million and €45 million (£34m-£38m).


Despite Chiesa’s recent statistics, his versatility makes him an attractive option for Arsenal. Compared by Joe Cole to a young Luis Suarez, Chiesa can play across the front line and as a second striker. This flexibility would make him an ideal backup for both the striker position and the right flank, providing much-needed rest for Saka. While Chiesa could address two key areas for Arsenal, it remains to be seen if the club will invest such a significant sum for a player likely to be a backup.
