Manchester City Star Julian Alvarez has finally responded to the rumours flying around after he was being linked to Chelsea

Julian Alvarez replies to potential Chelsea move as Blues seal £42 million deal for forward

The 24-year-old City striker has had two excellent seasons at the Etihad, netting 17 goals in the team’s treble-winning 2022-23 season and 19 goals in the Premier League title-winning campaign of 2023-24, which established a new record.

Only seven Manchester City players played more minutes than the Argentine last season, despite the fact that he mostly covered Golden Boot winner Erling Haaland.

Haaland has scored an astonishing 90 goals in 98 appearances for City, making it doubtful that Alvarez can topple him. However, there are whispers that Haaland may quit the Etihad to pursue regular playing time.

Several teams were allegedly interested in signing the 24-year-old, including Chelsea, which prioritized adding a new attacker this summer after Nicolas Jackson’s disappointing performance.

However, Alvarez has now clarified that he is delighted to stay with the Citizens beyond this summer, putting an end to talk that he may go to West London.

In an ESPN interview, Alvarez claimed, “These are things that have been spoken, but I am calm, comfortable, and pleased at City.” “We’ll see what happens.”

Paris Saint-Germain is also thought to have been connected with Alvarez as they hunt for a potential successor for Kylian Mbappe, who joined Real Madrid last week.

CHELSEA AGREE TO THE TERMS –

According to rumors in Colombia, Chelsea have agreed to pay £42 million to capture Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran.

We indicated interest in signing Duran during the January transfer window, but were unable to complete a deal because Aston Villa refused to allow the star depart halfway through a highly exciting season.

However, the club is looking for a new striker this summer, and according to Colombia’s Guillermo Arango, they have reached an agreement with Villa for a £42 million transfer price.

According to Arango, we are now in negotiations with Duran about his contract.

Duran’s agent, Jonathan Herrera, stated last month that the attacker was dissatisfied with his limited playing time at Villa.

‘He is a guy who has a contract with Aston Villa, he ended up performing very well, and the coach is depending on him, it is a club that, having gotten into the Champions League is a tremendous chance, but we know he wants to play, he wants to go out and play, we will see.’ Herrera informed El VBar Caracol.

‘Now that the market has opened up, the club is considering certain possibilities, as are we.
