Branthwaite’s exclusion from England’s Euro 2024 squad has apparently given Manchester United the opportunity to expedite the transfer.


Everton are demanding a significant fee for Branthwaite despite their financial difficulties. Reports claim they value him similarly to Harry Maguire, who moved from Leicester City to Manchester United in the summer of 2019. The Liverpool Echo adds that insiders at Everton assert that any sale from Sean Dyche’s squad will only happen if the buying club meets their valuation and the player wants to leave. Branthwaite, who is under contract with Everton until 2027, is seen as having a premium value due to being English and left-footed.


However, Manchester United hold the advantage in these negotiations because of Everton’s financial situation. Last season, Everton faced a relegation battle due to points deductions from PSR breaches, and a similar situation this season could lead to their relegation to the Championship for the first time.


Given the complexities of this deal, it’s challenging to predict Branthwaite’s exact transfer fee. The Manchester United target has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €26.2 million (£22.2 million), a figure that has increased significantly since the start of the season.
