Manchester City play maker Kevin De Bruyne has announced his stance at Manchester City after Pep Guardiola announced he will be leaving the Club

According to the Times, Kevin De Bruyne is interested in joining teams in Saudi Arabia this summer, although he is ‘open’ to extending his current deal with City.

The midfielder has played a significant role in City’s recent supremacy under Pep Guardiola. His current contract expires at the conclusion of next season.

A hamstring injury limited him to only 15 Premier League games this season. He still managed four goals and ten assists.

According to MEN Sport, De Bruyne will be aiming to put his injury troubles behind him next season, which will be bad news for clubs seeking to dethrone City. The midfielder is not interested in moving to the Saudi Pro League.

That’s only good news for the city. He has made a difference in a number of games since moving to the Etihad Stadium in 2015, and that appears to continue for at least another year.

Kalvin Phillips’ predicament

Following Leeds United’s inability to regain promotion to the Premier League, City lost another prospective suitor for Kalvin Phillips this summer.

The Whites faced Southampton at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, and Adam Armstrong’s goal was the difference between the two teams. That outcome prompted Taylor Harwood-Bellis’ permanent transfer to the Saints.

However, it also had an influence on City’s transfers. Leeds are one of the teams associated with Phillips, but according to the Mirror, their failure to achieve promotion means they will be unable to re-sign the midfielder from City this summer, despite his presence at Wembley.

MEN Sport believes it is best for Phillips to move on this summer as he seeks to restart his career. His poor loan experience at West Ham in the second half of the season makes it doubtful that the Hammers will pursue a permanent transfer.

A return to Leeds, where his performances earned him a call-up to the England team and spurred City to make a move, may have been beneficial for all sides. But now that option is out of the question, the search for a good fit continues.

Phillips requires a regular playing environment in order to recapture the player City saw when concluding the trade. It remains to be seen whether that is in the Premier League or overseas.
