FC Barcelona has triggered an £80 million release clause to lure a top player from Liverpool to Barcelona this summer as player confirms Interest to play at Barcelona

Journalist Ben Jacobs, who specializes in transfer news, recently shared his thoughts on the speculation that Barcelona may be interested in Thiago Alcantara and Luis Diaz of Liverpool this summer.

Jacobs made it clear that Liverpool has no intention of moving Diaz and that a move for the Colombian international by Barcelona is improbable given their financial limitations in his most recent Daily Briefing piece for CaughtOffside.

Diaz, who has been a key member of Liverpool, has a contract that expires in 2027, according to Jacobs. Despite his ongoing connections to Barcelona, Liverpool sees him as an essential member of their team and has no intentions to move him.

Diaz does not currently have a desire to leave Liverpool, despite his father’s public comments that his son has a long-term goal to play in Spain.

The fact that Barcelona would need to make major financial modifications in order to finance Diaz further lessens the likelihood of the transfer rumors, given the club’s present struggles with Financial Fair Play (FFP).

Due to their financial difficulties, Barcelona would have to part with important assets in order to make place for fresh purchases. Although Raphinha and Jules Kounde are considered possible sellers, neither player wants to leave Barcelona, according to Jacobs.

Anders Christensen and Ronald Araujo may also be names to keep an eye on, although before making any high-profile acquisitions like Diaz, any significant sales would need to balance their books.

Jacobs clarified that Thiago Alcantara, a seasoned midfield player who will depart Liverpool at the conclusion of his contract, is now considering his alternatives. Even though Thiago would rather remain in Europe, he hasn’t decided what his future course of action would be.

Previous attempts in January by Saudi teams to entice him with a pre-contract offer failed. Although Thiago’s name has also come up in relation to Barcelona, Jacobs said that it is still too soon to say with certainty where he will end up next.

Regarding the transfer rumors around these Liverpool players, Jacobs’ remarks provide a reasonable viewpoint. Although Barcelona would be a desirable long-term destination for Diaz, a transfer this summer seems improbable given the financial obstacles and Liverpool’s unwavering commitment to keeping him.

Diaz is still committed to his work at Liverpool and is making a big contribution to the group’s goals.

Thiago’s wish to remain in Europe is influencing his decision-making, therefore his future is still undetermined. Despite connections to Barcelona, no quick decisions are anticipated until more information about his alternatives becomes available.
